Part 2:

*Novel Coronavirus 2020:*

*Guidelines for residential societies to protect from Coronavirus*

*Issued in public interest by Sahakarsutra*

• Postpone organizing events and activities in societies
• Close, Shut down Gym, Swimming pool, and other commonly used amenities.
• Provide masks and hand sanitizers to the security guards and other society staff
• Avoid using biometrics for access
• Stop the delivery executives at the gate and ask the residents to collect the parcels from the gate.
• Ask the car cleaners to stop coming to work
• Ask staff members to “work from home"
• Handover extra soap or soap strips to all society staff
• Track the people who are back from travel (domestic or international). Advise them to self-quarantine for 14 days.
• Establish a neighbourhood Emergency Response Team (ERT) comprised of residents, council leaders and key staff members of society. It would be nice if you had a doctor in the ERT. You may build an ERT for each tower for large communities with many towers.
• Proper sanitization should be followed by collectors.

*Factors to be considered while suspected of symptoms:*

People who are suspected or confirmed of having COVID-19 should isolate in the home setting and not go out in public.
People who are self-monitoring for symptoms should always avoid crowded places (e.g. sporting events, concerts, airplanes, subway) and places, where rapid self-isolation may not be feasible,
People should practice personal protective measures (e.g., frequent hand hygiene, avoid touching eyes/nose/mouth).
Employers/businesses could consider implementing distribute work hours to reduce jamming on public transit during peak commuting hours.
Voluntary Group quarantine should be considered based on local epidemiological and social assessment; if there is a closure of public transit, alternate transport systems for the emergency care or care (dialysis, chemotherapy) as well as essential infrastructure staff may need to be addressed.

*How to protect Senior Citizens from coronavirus?*

With the growing age, our body deteriorates gradually and the more harm it builds up, the more likely it will stop functioning properly. if not maintained our body initially will lose strength. Which means we are at increased risk for chronic diseases such as cancer or diabetes.
Such underlying conditions will make it harder for the body to fight with infections alongside compromised immune systems.

*Social distancing*

Social distancing steps include quarantine, person isolation, and other group-based interventions, as well as strategies, are taken to avoid close interaction with others in the group.

*School and day-care measures*

Public health measures in schools and day-care centers, through personal safety measures, contact with teachers and parents and environmental maintenance, are designed to provide a safe school environment.
